turn off to the cabin

We are now residing at Bear River. Just past mm 46 on SR150. (I think) It's super comfy with plenty of hot water and a wood burning stove. We took a drive up the hwy to see how far we could get:: not very far.

And I had to throw in a photo of Van signing PLEASE.

grandpa denter

When we walk into the Denter Household
the first person Van crawls over to is Grandpa.
He makes the sign for MORE and blinks at him until he gets a gumdrop.
The green&white are his favorite.
When Randy sees his Dad the first thing he does
is makes the sign for FISHING and blinks at him
until they've agreed on a time to go.
I love the amazing relationship that these two have.
I can only hope that my children love their father as much as Randy.

random st. george

Van learned how to bang on a pot at Grandma Denter's house.
Always so tiring when we come to St. George. Go Go Go!
Also while we were down last we celebrated
my wonderful Mom's birthday
with ice cream and cake and cake!
And we're soso close to walking.
I'm not ready for it.
But Van doesn't want to sit still!

On this lovely Memorial Day I always find myself
thinking of my incredible ancestors that have come before me.
I love learning about them.
I'm grateful for the Gospel
and knowing that we can be an eternal family.
I love my family. I am so very blessed.

i like dirt

{April 28}
We were enjoying the sunshine outside
when I noticed Van's face was doing something funny.
So I got a little closer to him and noticed
the dirt.
He was chowing down like it was his first taste of food.
Giggling to himself he'd grab more and more.
Until I tried to stop him and then he used the fence
to run away to another part of the yard.
Boys will be boys.

mtn view

We're kinda off the grid. Randy started work this week in Wyoming. Van and I have been sick so my motivation to blog has been zero. I do enjoy the biggest blue skies I've ever seen. And living in a trailer with no hot water makes me appreciate my lovely Logan home.

I'll try to update again soonish.

cotton days

We were hanging out at the Denter home
when we got the call from Q to get our behinds up the street
so we could watch him in the Tractor Pull.

Randy made me run up the street.
Briley decided she wanted the cowboy face-paint.
Mustache included.
Donovan was wearing a bib because he'd been so drooley.
He was cutting his 8th tooth.

I love Dennis Gibson.
And all of his grandkids love him too!
It was so nice to be outside in the warmth.
Even with the wind blowing my silly bangs all over the place :)
Quinn had two tractors in the pull.
Who knows how many he owns.
I'd never seen a pull
so they had to explain what it was all about.
I guess the further you go the more pressure/weight
the trailer puts out.
Quinn won second place!
Van loves a good steering wheel.
Anytime we get in the car he tries to wiggle over to it.
So when he was able to play with the
tractor's big wheel he was in heaven.
It was the cutest thing to see Van and Quaid
give each other hugs.
Van would pat Q on the back.
I am in love with Quaid's curls.
While we were sitting in the sun I was craving a
snowcone so badly.
As soon as we were done watching Q
we went hunting
for some Tigers Blood.
The. Best.

overlook

We had an afternoon to kill and decided to head up to Zion.
We didn't want Van to get burned so my Mom
hooked him up with this sweet green bandana.
Before we could get going we had to get a fresh diaper
and pack up the baby in the Ergo.
Self timer.
This is where Randy and I came on our first date
after he had come home from his mission.
Fun memories.
My Mom wanted to get a family photo
but she wouldn't get near the edge.
The overlook hike is great for a quick hike
and a spectacular view.
Van passed out on our way back
Van likes movement so when we would stop to look at things
he would start to fuss.
Derek took this concept and created this
sway-my-hips-to-keep-Van-happy dance.

swimswim

It was the warmest weather we'd had all year
so we wanted to try the pool with the little guy.
So we put on some swimmer diapers
and got everything ready for him.
He didn't LOVE it.
I think it was because the water was cooler
than his normal bath.
Next time I'll try to warm it up a pinch.

bike trails

We inherited a bike trailer and wanted to try it out.
Amazingly everyone in the family was free to come with us.
Van was able to enjoy some treats and toys
while riding in his chariot.
Derek.
Riding the new bridge.
This is where the trail to Washington was
swept away with the latest flood.
One biking happy family.
I enjoy being with my family.
I love riding my bike and can't wait to use
our new bike trailer a thousand times!

trailers don't like logan

So this is the second time we've been pulled over with a trailer headed to Logan. Both times we didn't have the lights hooked up. I guess we always have good intentions to get going earlier in the day. If you've ever traveled with a baby you know that they add 3 hours onto anything :)

The lady UHP was super nice and told us it was dangerous to have a trailer in the dark. So we found the closest Walmart and Randy hooked us up. I'm grateful for my safe driver and handyman husband.

We had a blast in St. George: lots of gret food, hikes, bike rides, snowcones and lots of family time. More posts on all that soon.

attempt 1

We tried to get into our cabin this past Saturday.
On our way through Randolph we ran into a bunch of cows.
Lots of fresh little calves.
We took a pit stop in Evanston.
Van decided he wanted to poop in his clothes
as a joke. . . so he played in his diaper while we ate.
Can you say Redneck?
And what's Redneck without some Camo?
We got some clean clothes for Donovan
and packed everything up to take with us.
Prana was super excited for the soft snow.
Donovan loves to be outside.
Ooops. We got stuck.
So we tried to get going again,
this time we headed to the road.
But we only made it to the turnoff before we sunk again.
So we turned around.
Toss the baby.
High into the sky.
I love that little pinkie curl.

We'll see how long it takes for the snow to melt
and we're able to really get into our cabin.

Randy reports for work on the 23rd.
So hopefully sometime around then :)
