kitty says meow.

When my parents were here
Donovan played with the talking kitty app
on my Dad's iPhone.
He would squeal and the kitty would squeal back
which would provoke more laughter and squealing.
Super entertaining.
We all enjoyed watching the baby and the kitty.
Who doesn't like kitties?
Now cats-that's another story.
My Dad and I tried to say monkey in Chinese
on the translator app.
We kept coming up with silly words
that were no where close to monkey.
Also hilarious and entertaining.

What did we do before we had smart phones?
Who knows.

i love my family

Donovan turned
9 months and one week
last week.
It's crazy to think that when he was in my belly
he was 9 months and 1 week.
This weekend was full of surprise visitors.
LOVED it!
My parents texted us during church on Sunday
and asked if they could come up for the night.

We adore having them here.
Donovan took a second to warm up to them
but after a few minutes Grandma&Grandpa
were definitely his favorites.
{especially talking kitty}

Aren't they cute.
As tradition dictates we headed to Olive Garden for lunch.
Our sippy cups.
We've been working with Van on drinking out of a cup.
This morning he gave himself an impromptu shower
with all of his attempts at getting a drink.
{Thank you again}
After lunch we headed to Donovan's 9 month checkup.
19.5 lbs 30 % weight
28 inches 50% height
6 teeth
1 shot
Tonight for FHE we watched
Family Home Videos
from
June 2010-January 2011.

It was wonderful to watch because it records
the first time I really got to hold
Donovan.
I asked Randy, 'Do we know his name yet?'
We didn't name him for a few days.
I remember Randy placing him
in my arms-it was surreal and amazing.
My heart was now beating outside of my chest.

I'm so in love with my family
and ever grateful for all of my blessings.

surprise visitors are the bestest

I've traveled around the world with this friend.
I've traveled across the country to visit this friend.
And on Friday she surprised us in Logan!
Jen's Family is moving across the Ocean to Italy!
We can't wait to be her visitors there :)
We love seeing her.
Always a grand time.

Donovan was such a stinker.
He wasn't ready to wake up from a nap.
He was teething.
He was grumpy.
But still so cute.

camo adventure

Randy has been working on the van
so we can take our little Van for a ride.
I guess the engine was acting funny
so Randy took the whole thing out to fiddle with it.
He checked every bolt.
And he found this :: Can you see it?
When he showed me the picture I didn't see anything.
Do you see the big circle
and then the two black circles inside of it?
Go to the left circle-on the top.

It's a screw.
It was plugging up one of pistons.
So Randy is putting it back together tonight
and we're going to go for a ride tomorrow!
I am thrilled to post our results.

aunt star

Starrlite stayed with us for a few days after
Mom&Pop&Lucas drove home.

We enjoyed having her here.
We went out to lunch and made good food.
We saw a real movie and watched a bunch on Netflix.
And walked the dog.
Later I heard her telling Randy that I took her on a death march.
She sat down on the snow
at one point during our walk and said
It's so cold!
Silly Star.
Both Prana and Donovan adore Aunt Star.
I wish I'd taken some more photos of us playing together.
{Thanks for staying and playing}

letting the dogs roam

{March 18}
Before the Bbq we decided to walk the dogs
in hopes to get out some of their extra energy.
Boy, did they love it!
We went to Hyde Park bench.
It was nice because we were away from any traffic
and we could see the dogs for the majority of their run.
It was a beautiful afternoon.
3 generations

Van likes keeping his on on Prana.
He was getting excited when he could see them run by.
It does all of us some good to get outside.

denter bbq

{March 12}
We enjoyed having family here.
We know that it's a long long long drive
from one end of the state to the other.

Trudy. Mya. Prana.
Star. Papa Chuck.
The girls.
Nina. Grandma Merrijane. Star. Sarah.
Playing games.
If you're wondering why Kyle is naked
it's because after dinner
the little boys went outside to play in the mysterious snow.
They came back soaked.
Van loves his cousin Jr.
He kept wanting to touch him
and kiss him.
These guys are going to love being so close
when they get just a pinch older.
While we were getting things ready in the kitchen
Jr started crying.
I guess Grandma wanted to be part-kangaroo
to keep him warm and cuddle.
It did the trick.
We had 4 dogs
8 adults
2 babies
4 kids
Did I mention four dogs?
Good food. Good family. Good times.
We missed everyone who couldn't be with us.
{Thank you. Come again}

using one's hands and feet to ascend a steep object

{March 9}
For Spring Break we headed South.
We took advantage of the intoxicating temperatures
and played outside as much as possible.
We met up with some other dogs.

Grandma was the best on-site babysitter.

I could feel our climbing gear smiling
with every fiber of its being.
Break time.
Gotta feed the baby.
We tried to get Van to climb the wall.
He wasn't sure what to think.
I think he liked touching the rock with his feet.
But not his tender hands.
{p.s. like my photo collage? still learning}
These boys have my heart.
We wanted to take a family photo
so we gave the camera to my Mom.
There ended up being over 30 pictures :)
A bit of heaven on Earth.
Our SB didn't turn out the way we had planned,
sick baby/little sleep/no hiking the wave
but
I'd like to think we still had a relaxing and warm break.

Next up :: St George Denter Clan visits Logan Denter Clan.

dsc bball

{November 1, 2010}
In celebration of my brother's 2nd place at Regionals
I wanted to throw back to his first DSC Bball game.

Van and I drove down for the game.
{he looks so little}
My long locks.
His short baldness.
It was a Monday and jammed full of fun.
Hitting up the Lazy Daisy.

Lunch with Tio.
Check out that strange facial hair.
We babysat some dogs in the afternoon.
Buster, Iggy and Max playing tug-of-war.
We went shopping and played peek a boo with Grandma.
Like I said, it was a busy busy day.
Cuddles with Grandpa.
We made it for the tip off and enjoyed watching Derek play.
We were worried about it being too loud
so we put band-aids on his ears.
I don't think it really did anything.
Oh yeah, did I mention we went and got my hairs cut.
We were good cheerleaders.
Go Dixie!
I have an adorable video of these two dancing to the halftime music.
Too cute.
2nd place is bittersweet
I am proud of my little brother
and his team.

I'm also proud of my supportive Dad & Mom.
They should get the MVP of the parents.
They've showed me the best example
of loving unconditional encouragement.
