Paintballers

Randy and I thought it would be fun to get paintball guns and play together. We've tried several different days to get people grouped up to play. It's either been the crazy cold weather or the holidays that keeps halting our games. Finally yesterday we got our gear together: paintballs, paintball guns, full-faced masks, gloves, camouflage clothes, water to clean out the hopper, a little piece of plastic to clean out the barrel and more paintballs :)

We ended up playing with Quinn, Dane, Lucas, Nathan and two boys, Kelton and Weston, who live in the area that we were playing. We played at an old abandoned house on a hill. By the time I got there we only had enough light to play a few games. I got hit twice-once on my leg and arm. Lucas got me both times. It kinda was a suicide mission because I went for it, but my gun malfunctioned---so that was really frustrating. Randy didn't want me to get hit, so he kept telling me to stay back. He was so sweet, he wanted to protect me the whole time. I think he liked the idea of fighting to protect his family.

Quinn's little girl showed up towards the end and it was fun to see how he would take turns to play and take care of her. It's fun to see our friends with kids who still go out and play. I look forward to having a little friend to play with and teach 'em how to be a paintballer.

What I think about Blogs

Blogs are fun, everyone is doing them. I just don't want to be that blogger who complains about other people or tries to show off how cool I am. I want this to be a means to enable people to see a bit into our lives and enjoy those special moments with us. I love my wife, she is a gifted and beautiful individual who cares and loves me.

I am a hungry Hippo

Merry Christmas

This year has been a little different with my younger brother gone. He has always been so childlike when talking about Christmas and presents. He twinkles when he talks about theperfect gift he has for each parent and his friends. He likes to plan out who will open presents and in which order. I miss his enthusiasm and his stomach hugs.

Husband and I will have two Christmases this year, possibly two and a half. We'll start at the Chuck and Merrijane's house. We'll have scones and watch the young ones open their presents. And then we're off to chat with the missionary, I'll sleep for a few hours and then get up to have more food and second Christmas.
What I'm really looking forward to is seeing Ran open up his presents. We tried to keep our presents as secret as we could, he love surprises and it's kinda rubbed off on me. In our desperation to find places where the other doesn't normally look we both hid our presents in the same cupboard downstairs. We only discovered that yesterday. We first made sure neither one saw anything and then we laughed really hard.

I hope that everyone drives safely on this snowy holiday. I can't even count how many 911s we've had about people sliding off the road. Eat as much chocolate and fruit dip as you can and enjoy your families-that's what I'll be doing.
